World Aid Network publishes this calculator and its educational guides. We explain calculation assumptions, cite the sources used and identify relevant differences. We do not claim a named scholarly review of every guide. A medical professional’s involvement in a programme does not establish religious review of Zakat calculations.
Sources and the scope of our guidance
Our guides draw on published guidance from specialist Zakat organisations, primary religious references where relevant, and government sources for UK tax rules. Different sources can follow different scholarly methods. We describe a method as that source’s approach rather than treating it as universal agreement.
Worked examples are labelled as illustrative and explain their assumptions. They demonstrate arithmetic; they do not establish a personal religious obligation or certify an investment.
Price dates and content updates
Nisab depends on a dated metal valuation. The calculator distinguishes the provider’s price date from retrieval time, rejects invalid or stale data and allows manual prices. We do not call a historical fallback a current price.
A page update date records a material content revision. Rebuilding the site does not imply every article has been freshly reviewed. Sitemap and feed dates should follow actual page changes.
Authorship and expertise
The publisher is World Aid Network. The site does not currently identify a scholarly panel that has reviewed all its religious guidance. We therefore do not describe these guides as “scholar-reviewed”. If a named review is documented later, it should state the reviewer, scope and date.
Medical credentials and programme involvement should only be described where relevant to the content and supported by a public record. They must not be used as a substitute for specialist religious or financial review.
Organisation claims and donations
For current registration status and programme information, use World Aid Network’s registration page and its main website. The parent site reported registration in progress when checked on 8 September 2026. An application reference is not a registered charity number; ICO registration concerns data protection.
Gift Aid should only be enabled after HMRC recognition and the relevant operational requirements have been confirmed. Programme cost estimates are not guarantees of a particular medical outcome. Donor choices do not change the calculator’s arithmetic.
Corrections and contact
We record material changes to calculations and guidance in the corrections log. If you spot an error, provide the page, the disputed statement and a supporting source using the contact page. A useful correction explains the issue rather than simply changing the visible date.
